Role Overview
We have an immediate opening for an ID/OD Precision Grinder ($3,000 sign-on bonus!) to work in our advanced manufacturing grinding department based in our Shrewsbury, MA location. This is a full-time role, Monday-Friday, 7am-3:30pm. This position will be responsible for high-precision surface grinding to support prototype and low-volume production of critical components. We are looking for a candidate who has experience in Precision ID/OD Grinding with very stringent dimensional and roundness tolerances.

Responsibilities:
You will be primarily responsible for cylindrical grinding components used in our air bearing product line.
- Own precision ID/OD grinding operations using Studer Grinders.
- Transform single piece prototypes to low volume production parts with strict adherence to dimensional and roundness tolerances.
- Conduct in-process and final inspections to ensure all specifications and print tolerances are met.
- Interpret engineering drawings and process parts independently with minimal supervision.
- Maintain alignment with production schedules, cost objectives, and quality standards.
- Apply 5S and lean manufacturing principles in compliance with ISO 9001 standards.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
- Experience with machining and grinding concepts, techniques, and strategies
- Ability to read and accurately interpret blueprints and related work instructions
- Working knowledge of grinding fundamentals (gained through experience and training)
- Ability to work self-sufficiently with minimal supervision
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 35 lbs as needed.
- Ability to stand, walk, and remain on feet for extended periods of time during scheduled shifts.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong working knowledge of advanced manufacturing concepts and strategies (gained through experience or training)
- Proficient numerical abilities
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and work instructions
- Ability to develop machining/grinding processes
- Experience operating surface and cylindrical grinders
